SportsEd Advisor was built to assist athletes to grow into progressives global leaders and future sport stars in this challenging world. 

As globalization progresses, there’s a high demand for people in Hong Kong who wants to send their children to study abroad and play sports abroad because it is deemed by most parents that Sports are not a high priority to parents in Hong Kong.

While growing up, my passion for sports faced an uphill battle as I navigated a system that prioritized academic achievements above all else. Both my parents and my school were firm believers in emphasizing academic results, leaving little room for the support and encouragement I yearned for in my athletic pursuits. This trend extended to my circle of friends, who were also bound by the prevailing mindset that academics should be the unequivocal priority. Post-graduation from high school, my friends and I found ourselves retired from the sports we once loved, succumbing to the prevailing culture in Hong Kong that devalued athletic pursuits.

However, my journey took an unexpected turn when I was afforded the opportunity to coach NCAA Division I and III teams at prestigious institutions like NYU and Cornell. These experiences provided me with invaluable insights into the training methodologies and cultural dynamics that fostered a thriving sports environment. What became abundantly clear to me was the stark contrast between the sports culture I experienced growing up and the rich, supportive ecosystem I witnessed in these American universities.

In reflecting on this dichotomy, it dawned on me that as the world continues to evolve into a more interconnected and global society, there is a growing appetite among families for international education. Parents are increasingly recognizing the importance of exposing their children to diverse perspectives and experiences, cultivating a global mindset that extends beyond the confines of traditional academics. This realization has become the cornerstone of my vision – to bridge the gap between the academic and athletic worlds, creating an environment where young minds can flourish not only in the classroom but also on the sports field, fostering a balance development that prepares them for success in our interconnected world and creating the next Sports Star.

From an early age, it is crucial to pursue foreign education and get experience studying abroad, as these endeavors will contribute to the development of independence, teamwork, and sophisticated multicultural viewpoints.
